What does Sentinel-6 Michael Freilich do?

Sentinel-6/Jason-CS includes two identical satellites (Sentinel-6 Michael Freilich and Sentinel-6B) scheduled to launch five years apart. Sentinel-6B is planned to launch in 2025. These satellites will help us to understand ocean circulation. They will also help to measure and monitor global sea level rise. It will also capture measurements of the atmosphere that will help improve how we predict future weather and climate. The Sentinel-6 Michael Freilich satellite is an international partnership between the U.S. and Europe.
