What does SWOT do?

SWOT is the short name for Surface Water and Ocean Topography. SWOT is providing the first global survey of all Earth’s surface water. The satellite surveys at least 90 percent of Earth's surface, measuring and monitoring changes in the ocean, lakes, reservoirs, rivers and wetlands, providing useful data for society. SWOT also keeps a close eye on Earth's water to improve our understanding of ocean circulation and weather and climate predictions.
