What does Suomi-NPP do?

Suomi-NPP is a satellite with five instruments that watch Earth's environment and climate. Data from this satellite are used to map land cover and watch changes in vegetation. NPP tracks atmospheric ozone and aerosols, and takes sea and land surface temperatures. NPP also monitors sea ice, land ice, glaciers, and natural disasters around the world.
